Adding a music bot takes less than a minute. Here is the whole process with ChillBot, from the invite link to the first song, plus fixes for the usual problems.
Step 1
Check your permission
You need the “Manage Server” permission on the server. If you own the server, you already have it.
Step 2
Open the invite link
Click “Add to Discord” on this page. Discord opens and asks which server should receive the bot.
Step 3
Pick the server and authorize
Choose your server, keep the requested permissions (the bot needs to connect and speak in voice channels) and confirm.
Step 4
Join a voice channel
Connect to any voice channel of that server.
Step 5
Type /play
In any text channel, type /play. ChillBot joins your voice channel and the lofi radio starts.
Good to know
- The bot does not join? Check that its role can “Connect” and “Speak” in that voice channel.
- Slash commands do not appear? Make sure members have the “Use Application Commands” permission in the channel.
- The bot left on its own? It leaves when nobody is listening. Premium servers can keep it with /24-7.
